Thanks....
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the support you've shown since this adventure started. The comments you have all sent are so very welcome. I know this is not going to be an easy process... but I knew that from day one 2 1/2 years ago when I started all the paper work for this adoption.. I am having lunch at the Radisson as I am posting this. It's our favorite hangout here, mostly because the people speak English and I know what I'm eating.Can I just say that I'm glad to be a citizen of the good ole U S of A. I know I will have a better appreciation for all the amenities we generally take for granted there. Continue keeping me in your thoughts and prayers, I know they are helping. I know that God has a plan for me so I just put my faith that He knows what is best for me. To everyone at work,, miss you guy's a lot..however I don't miss not working..ha ha. Hopefully I will get another appointment to go back to the adoption center soon. If it is going to be a week or two before i get another appt. we are going to travel to the coast. According to the pictures i've seen, it is beautiful . Maybe Kelly can get some great pictures, Kiev has not been the most picturesque place.The hotels actually have satellite and internet access Love to you all.....Dede

Midnight and we are on call tomorrow. We had 8 kids and 10 adults for a July 4th cookout , swim and spectacular fireworks show from our deck. Jerry says he saved the images in his head for you cause we did not take one single picture. Last night we had 18 over for the wine tasting. It was so much fun. Talked about you and how much we miss you. We all want you to always think about us and know our love and hopes for the very best are with you. My strong sense of comfort for you is felt when i know kelly is there and when I read the passion she has life and the lives of those less fortunate. Let Kelly know jerry and I look forward to meeting and getting to know her personally. I have to tell you again Dede, you are so loved and cared for at Children's. Everyone continues excitingly to CLICK the DEDE ICON. Hope your week away will be exciting and bring fun adventures ; giving you time to reflect and think cleary from the heart. We don't think you'll have any problems blending in if you keep the stylish head wrap. You will be defintely in VOGUE! Sorry we missed your call. if you can give us a number to call we'll be around this weekend and try to call you. Please be safe and enjoy some of the most beutiful places in the world. Hope all is well. Your entry from July 3rd was so sweet. We all want this to work for you so badly.
We're all missing you and lots of people are keeping up with the events. I was in the dental room with Dr. Jackson today and she overheard us talking about you. She asked several questions and I brought up the blog on the computer. So they all saw the photos and heard about what's happening. I put the icon on rm 10's desktop so more and more people will be keeping up.
I'm sorry things are moving so slow but it looks like the scenery is beautiful. Try to enjoy the sight-seeing and down-time. Things will be changing soon.......
I think that I told you that my first Ukrainian daughter is from Odessa. It is very different from Kyiv as I am sure that you have found out by now. I thought that the infrastructure was more run down, no color, etc. I wonder if it is the same apartment that I stayed it. Look at the ceiling in the kitchen; if it has a hole in it from the champagne cork, it is the same one!

Holy cow, did I have a lot to catch up on! I haven't been able to read the blog for the past week or so and there was a LOT to read! :)
Although it broke her heart not to choose the little boy she first met, Dede was very smart not to choose him. It takes a very brave, confident woman to know her heart, to be true to herself, and to make decisions that will be the best for her. A decision like this takes time and I know she will find the child that is right for her. I can't imagine what she is going through with this! My thoughts and prayers are with her, as with you. Enjoy your time there!
